My very 1st blog....

I have been toying with this idea for the longest time ever & finally I decided to just DO IT! Guess you must be wondering why I chose this name (bblfoodprints) for my blog. I got the idea from my bf who calls me BBL & initially, I wanted to just use bbl.blogspot.com but it was invalid. So I had to improvise on the name! In the end, I decided to add in "foodprints" since this blog would be all about my little food prints on the small Sunny island called Singapore & hopefully, in time to come, I will take it overseas! :)

Friends of mine would know that I love my food (yes, that's an understatement!) & I love to take peeks of my food. Recently, my cousin who migrated to Melbourne wrote an interesting post on my FB wall. It says "Jie, I love looking at your photos, love how you take so many pictures of food haha!".This really inspires me & whilst having dinner last week with my bf, he brought up the idea of me starting a blog (actually, he has been encouraging to start one way back but I kept procrastinating pondering over it!) Finally, here comes my 1st post!

Lately, I have been looking around for an interesting venue for my wedding in Nov. Whilst doing my research online, I came across this interesting find in Dempsey, E Food & Wine and decided to check out the place. (hehe, this is indeed a PERFECT excuse to check out new places and indulge in my love for FOOD! But...I have to watch my waistline!)

On Sunday, we decided to head there for brekkie & check out the place (killing 2 birds with 1 stone). Upon reaching, what greeted us was the serenity & the lush greens of the place (it is pretty secluded & private with its own carpark as well & may I add, the carpark is pretty big too!). The weather was good too, simply luv the blue blue skies!

The breakfast selection was pretty good & we decided to settle for the typical breakfast set (which comprises the eggs, sausages (pork/chicken), bacon, tomato & toast). We also ordered the blueberry pancakes with choice of bacon/sausage & how can breakfast be complete without....coffee! I ordered a soy latte whilst BBC (yes, that's my nickname for my bf) ordered his usual cappuccino.

I tried the pancakes & it was really good. I love the texture which is fluffy & not too heavy! At the same time, it was not overly sweet & the taste was simply heavenly! (for me to like my pancake, it has to be really good, trust me! keke).

Next up, comes the breakfast set! Whilst taking the peek, I realised that we ordered the sunny side up & not scrambled eggs (O I have always been a fan of the sunny side up with the runny egg yolk, slurps!). So....the bf said "this is a good chance to check out their service!" & we did! We spoke to the waitress & she was really nice & professional about it & told us she will get the chef to whip up the sunny side up. We were pretty impressed with that. The toast was not too dry & they were generous to give us a small bottle of jam & marmalade (& not forgetting butter) to go with it. The mushrooms were nicely sauteed (m not a big fan of mushrooms but the bf insisted that I just gotta try one & I did) LOL.

My all-time fav ~ Sunny Side UP!
Overall, I am pleased with the service, food & ambience of the place. It is definitely a hidden gem in Dempsey surrounded by the greens. I would surely go back there again to try out the other stuff in the menu! (not forgetting, they actually gave us a 15% discount voucher on the next meal at E!) Good tactic, I must say!

I was initially apprehensive whether I could even write anything but the thoughts & words seem to flow along & I must say I feel liberated! Haha, special thanks to BBC!

Happy reading & International Women's day! Stayed tuned for more to come... (",)
